Running wires into the cab from the engine - how is this done?

Looking to install an air/fuel gauge and found several postings on what to buy and how to install..

I purchased an AEM 30-4110

What I haven't seen in any of the threads was how do you get the wires into the cab (from the engine bay) ? Is there a grommet that people use? I have seen a couple mention "wire harness" but I am not seeing where that comes in to the cab.. I have the back firewall open as I am replacing the speakers..

I have a 1981 3.0ltr 911sc..

Any help would be appreciated.

Center tunnel has all the current used and maybe unused entry holes. Check the area where the transmission shift rod enters the car from below.

Drivers side, rear floorboard...pull carpet back and there is a spot where the wiring harness passes through...fish your wire through there.

I took this earlier.. I dont see anything from the pic..

Are you talking about the carpet under the rear seat - right where it goes up?

Lift the carpet behind the seat belt and remove the access cover to the tunnel.
Wire harnesses and shift rod coupler are in there.

ok - got it. Thank you .

I'll run the wires up under the cover underneath the carpet.

I have an AFR in place of the clock....I ran the wires thu the shifter tunnel by attaching the wire (taped) to a length of bailing wire (rigid but bendable) then up thru the dash.....just enough 02 sensor wire to do that.
One of the best mods I've done for constant monitoring of system health.

That and the Carrera oil cooler unit...great mod for an SC
