Installed seats, now a problem?

I installed new seats yesterday, well only one actually, and when I got in to see how it fit I was surprised that felt like I was sitting much higher. I used Planted adapter plate and did not put the spacers in as I wanted them sitting as low as possible but still it feels really high. My car had the comfort seats so I'm wondering/hoping that maybe because these new ones are "new" they will settle in lower than they currently sit. Is that possible or am I just holding out for something that will not happen. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1557761211.jpg

Any suggestions on possibly getting them to sit lower?
Thanks
Mike

Can you post a picture of the seat base / seat track setup you are using? Without knowing how your new seat is designed/configured it is difficult to give constructive ideas.

As for the seat compressing and lowering over time, I would be surprised if the foam compresses to a provide any noticeable change with time. if the foam where to compress in in a noticeably short time I don't think it would last long term, so I would expect you to have to position the seat correctly in the beginning to create the seating position you desire.

Yea, I have a problem with high seats as well. Not knowing how those are mounted makes it hard to tell if there is a fix.

In my car, I mounted old school race seats (MOMOs) with custom mounts on the FLOOR. Works for me, but others have trouble getting in and out. :D

That seat is huge for that car. I think all the newer seats sit much higher and that is why you don't see them in our cars. Can you even fit both in without them hitting each other?

To get an aftermarket seat low enough in my car, I had to get a side mount seat, ditch the sliders, AND modify the side mount brackets slightly.

I think anything bottom mount is going to be higher than the OEM seat.

It's impossible to tell what your dealing with. We don't know what is on the bottom of the seat....for example sliders, ect. I would say that maybe the new seat is just higher than the stock seat cushion. Its just too hard to tell without some additional pics and info.

I will get some more pictures of the seats and where they are mounted. It seems as though they will need to be mounted pretty much right to the floor I think.
Thanks everyone
Mike

I'm laughing. I'm only 5'8 so I don't need the head room. At stop lights, economy cars' door handles are at eye height. We're driving go-carts with license plates. :)
