Hershey Swap Meet Anyone going from Atlanta?

Thought I might as well put up the post. Will be going again this year leaving probably on Thursday afternoon and returning either on Sunday or Monday - anyone else interested in going?

Carnut 169 and I drove up last year from Atlanta and met with Tom morgan (Racemor) and Reid Allred (RaceReid) at Charlotte, NC. Aside from one minor delay we made pretty good time. I think we can do better this year.

I would like to see what else is going on besides the swap meet. So, if anyone is interested in going, chime in.

Steve

I'm a Porsche Newbie and I live in the same Atlanta-area County as you - Gwinnett.
For the sake of us newbies - Can you explain what a "Swap Meet" is?
Thanks. - Bill

brawlins, it is just what the name implies. A place to buy, sell and trade porsche stuff.

Steve let me know if Northern Va ends up being a lay over for Fri. night.

Hopefully, at the very least, we can meet up there again. I'll be there for breakfast this time

I have a pretty high level of confidence that a couple of us from the Charlotte area are going this year. Keep us is the loop and we'd liked to caravan up with you.

Steve, that delay may have been minor, but costly! See below

I'm planning on going again but other than Hal don't know who else in the area is going. I'd like to meet up again but was not planning on leaving until Friday like last year. Is anything going on up there on Friday?

I would be going but I think the wife would flatten my tires if I did. I think I read the Parade was going to be in Hershey one year soon. Is that so?

Tom I need to meet up with you get that poster from you. Name a time and place.

Oh I think Will is going to Hershey this year

I would like to go. I was thinking of flying. If there is an extra seat I would consider sharing costs and driving. How much did it cost in gas food and hotels?

fly high

Elombard the only problem with flying is bring back all that good stuff in your carry on. I have been flying to the Carlisle All Chrysler National for years, which is near Hershey. But I always had friends who drove and brought back my large purchases.
I'm thinks of driving up myself. give me a call and lets talk about it.

Steve - are you going to stay at the same place as we both did last year? This year I'll be making the trip up on Saturday morning (along with the rest of the NoVa caravan) so I won't be there to hang out the night before. Let's definately plan on meeting up that day. See you then ...

Hello Atlanta guys. Since this is getting closer I thought I'd revive the thread. It looks like we have a 4 or 5 cars from NC headed up this year. Anyone want to meet us and caravan up on Friday?

Tom,

I guess we need to set a time and place to leave from Charlotte. Hal and I already booked two rooms at the Spring Hill Suites by Marriott so we will have a place to stay. Not accounting for tax, our room rate will be $98.10 (reflects a AAA discount). I recorded our confirmation numbers and I can send them to you later if we can't ride together. In theory we should get two rooms next to each other. The room layout looks great.

I have already requested Friday and Monday off so I should be able to leave any time on Friday.

I just noticed that they finally have online registration for the autocross on Sunday. I signed up, but it got my PCA region wrong (I specified Other and it came up Sudenvolk when I submitted it). Hopefully I'll get some sort of e-mail back and I can get that corrected.
