long hood vs short hood carpet kit

Good evening everyone,

Does anyone know the difference between the long hood (69-73) and the short hood (74-89) carpet kit?

Thanks

David

I have one of each. The foot well covers/ map pocket pieces, Transmission tunnel cover and floor pieces that go under the mats in the front are differently shaped and siZed. The short also has some extras like the door covers. That being said, you could probably make adjustments that would allow one to fit the other.

Thank you, That is what I was hoping to hear. I'm slowly back dating my 74 and if the earlier carpet will fit I might have a deal on some carpet.

If you are handy I think you could make it work. The footwell covers are different but you will have some extra carpet from the door cards. Also the holes for the console and shifter are different, but in my experience you can piece the carpet very successfully if you are careful to match the direction and grain. Good luck and pm me if you need specific help
