New seat anyone? 911R recaro

Could be nice in that early project.

I wonder what reserve is.

Not..

That would not be a R seat. Scheil made some of those seats, and the Recaro seat had venting holes.

I don't know whether the seat came from an actual 911R but it is an early Recaro fixed bucket seat of the type available in the mid-late 60's & hence could have been fitted to a 911R.

Looks similar to this original Recaro:

Would I buy it ? I don't think so. The bidding starts at $500 (reserve not met) & it's 35 years old so will need dismantling, the fibreglass shell reinforcing (or replacing), then re-upholstering...
it then becomes a bit like an original broom which has had 'x' new heads & 'y' new handles but is still original !

Andy, you describe exactly the dilemma I have with this very seat that you posted here. The cover is like new (the seat was hardly used befor removal), but the shell needs reinforcing, AND the cover is glued. So I risk ruining a perfect original cover to redo the shell.
What should I do??

Edit: now that I replied, you changed the picture in your post!!!!!
