Cool How to become a certified p-car mechanic?

Just wondering as a young man asked me one day about career choices as a specialized mechanic, specifically foreign cars such as Porsche. Do these guys just come up through the ranks getting experience? Do they go somewhere for training to get those little framed certificates and patches on their coveralls?? I'll bet there are some of us who wouldn't mind quitting our dull day jobs for the opportunity to work on p-cars and get paid for it every day!

Universal Technical Institute has a program for Porsche. You gotta become ASE certified first, the apply for the Manufacturers programs. They have a deal with PCNA where the tuition is reimbursed if you work at the dealership for a specified period of time after graduation.

I looked into this a bit since I am unemployed anyway It's a fairly significant time and money commitment. Not doable in my case due to family, house, etc.

Yeah UTI is the way to go I'd say. Then you apply as a mechanic ex. Porsche. They then put you on a 1 year training program, where you learn the aspect's of a Porsche, blah blah. You get payed crummy for that first year (12bucks +/-), after that year, you begin to flag hour's.
