Alternator rebuild in Pasadena, CA area?
Got my alternator out to repair my cracked fan housing and figured I'd get it rebuilt as the brushes are looking a little stumpy and I think I managed to dislodge the rear bearing.
Anyone have a shop recommendation in the SGV? I called one repair shop in Pasadena that does a lot of air-cooled cars to see who they used, and they told me that I should buy new, that rebuilt ones "never come out right". Which...I didn't think that was the case, but let me know if it is...I've rebuilt alternators before on my own and they aren't rocket science! |

I had these guys rebuild my alternator about 5 years ago. They've been around a long time. As I recall, about $110 at that time.

We take ours to a local battery shop for rebuild. $75-125 depending on what parts are needed. It's cheap insurance for a 40-50 year old part. They seem to come out "right".
