Would you order an item from our host if you cannot return it?

I was interested in ordering an item but I needed to be sure it is exactly what I needed. If you cannot confirm by a picture and you are told you cannot return it, would you order it anyway? Here is what I was told:
"The unit is special order from Porsche and I do not have the access to the item directly in the warehouse where I can have it pulled and compared to the provided fabric card."

The item is : Twill fabric 999-551-035-40-700

If I wasn't sure - probably not. Maybe you can find a vendor out there that would offer a small sample.

I've been at this for a few years now, no Twill out there. Now, I do know there is someone making the fabric but the upholster won't send me a sample or tell me the supplier/manufacturer.

When you order from the Porsche dealer, they give you a week to return it.

Correct, but the Porsche dealers, meaning Porsche Classic, say Twill is NLA.
Our host says they can get it from Porsche but not dealership - so there is the confusion. Why list it, if it is not available and have no confirming pictures?

Have you talked with a human at Pelican? I've seen things they claim they can get from Porsche but end up telling me NLA.

The message I posted was from a guy at Pel.

They only order stuff through suppliers, matching an odd fabric through a part number is IMPOSSIBLE, give up on the part number system for fabric, you must see it for yourself or it does not exist. Go to upholstery shops and upholstery suppliers for fabric. Many parts suppliers offer stuff that is not right, very common to broaden the year range on a part so they can sell to more people even of the part is not correct. I've been doing this forever and the quality of knowledgable parts clerks is worse than ever these days. Dealers are great for cars only 15-20 years old, after that specialty people!

I’ve done it before. As it turns out the part was wrong. Not pelicans fault. Life goes on.

If I could have seen at least a picture of the part then I would know whether or not the part was correct and not wildly off. Close may have worked.

Maybe just take a flyer & order the smallest piece possible. See if it works for your purpose.
