Renault rules the front row?

Is the world coming to an end? Next race will a Minardi be on the pole? Could it be the rules changes are working? Porsche in F1?

With the new rules, Minardi could actually rule the front row. This whole no refuelling between qualifying and the race has made it possible. We'll have to wait until tonight to know. They must be running very light fuel loads. Interesting to see Ralf so behind and Toyota's ever growing strenghts. We'll see. I'd love to see them go back to a qualifying format that is interesting and challenging.

Heck, I wish they would do the old Porsche cup thing where they qualify, then the pole sitter pulls out a number from a hat. That number could be anything between 0 and 6, and represents the number of cars to be shuffled. Then the drivers, (6 if he pulls a 6) pull straws to see who gets the pole and ather starting spots. Nobody dares sandbag qualifying, because the number could be "0", but the race becomes a strategic and driving shakeup. Interesting for us viewers, frustrating for the pole sitter who could start 6th! Otherwise, a good rainstorm before or during qualifying or the race is great for racing as well. Tough to control the weather though!

Watch Renault refuel before the 10th lap... It was pretty exciting though. I think an agregate qualifying time would be better. You could have one lap of all out qualifying and then a race trim qualifying session. You could see the Michael want to say the whole thing was BS, but he was a good sport for once.

I think Porsche could rule F1, and I'd love to see it happen, but would Bernie allow them to dominate as long as Ferrari did? Probably not.

Mikey, they can't surrender, they're too busy celebrating their first victory in over 100 years. They succesfully attacked and demolished a McDonalds restaurant in Paris, they must be so proud.

What was it - a second between P1 and Mark Weber's Minardi [c'mon Aussie] in P16?? Bernie wants closer racing, but at least he has acheived closer qualifying. First time MS has missed the pole in Malasia - ever! Ralphie was back in the dust. The race, however, may be a different story.........
