Help, with source for screws that attach the engine tin to engine compartment..
Does anybody know of a source for the screws that run along the perimeter of the engine Tin? I know they have 10.0mm hex head. They are also used to screw the Fiberglass Shroud into the Alternator housing. I'm not looking for the pointed screws that thread through the shroud and seat themselves into the metal clips...
Not quite sure exactly what these are called, or where to get them... thanks. |

Pretty much any hardware store,

Yep. You use the toll free number...tell 'em what you want, and the guys there will do their darndest to get the proper item to you...even if it's not in the catalog. If they don't? Take names, then email Wayne...he'd like to know about it. Seriously tho, there should be a firm in Portland that has metric fasteners...ask one of the P car service shops, they'll know the names. Take a sample to one of these firms, you'll probably get what you need in hand. I often use MacDonald Industrial in Albany, who has bins full of metric nuts, bolts, screws, etc., but there should be a counterpart up there... On the other hand, if you want them mailed to your doorstep? Pelican could probably do it if anybody could. Last resort, drive out to McMinnville, ask Gary Emory if he has 'em..

They are 6x12 with wider than normal captive washer. I haven't seen a metric fastener place with an exact match.

One can buy complete OEM kits of this engine sheet metal hardware for about $30 a kit. I've ordered them from several sources but all of the packages appear to have originated at Stoddards. Cheers, Jim
