3.0 throttle body on 3.2 intake?

will an SC 64mm throttle body bolt directly onto a 3.2 Carrera intake? Is the bolt pattern the same? I think the throttle bodies are almost the same size? 63-64mm bore?

thanks,

The SC throttle body will fit on a Carrera intake. You will have to mess about with the throttle linkage a bit and the top opening of the TB sits a little higher as the TB itself is slightly taller.

I am interested in what you are going to do. Sounds interesting. Please share.

Thank you Marwil… have you heard of success doing this? i.e. No drawbacks?

Dave... just trying to use parts available to cobb together something a little better than the CIS with a small air chamber and funky runners. This is a continuing saga of a Euro 3.0 liter CIS to EFI conversion I keep playing with. Most, if not all, would just leave things alone.

I did this with mine. I run a 1980 SC engine and TB on a Carrera manifold. Injection is managed with MegaSquirt 2. You will need insulated adapter blocks between the heads and the manifold; the heads measure 35 mm at the port whereas the Carrera manifold is 40ish mm at the head port. You can fabricate your own, but the quickest route is to use blocks from Turbokraft.

Once you have the adapters you will need to sand them back at the head side of the blocks to 35 mm to match the intake port size. you might need to do a bit of light grinding in the port around the injector opening. Be careful because you need to leave enough material to support the gasket joint between the head and the spacer block.
