Oil smoke from vent seen through rear wheel

I have a 1991 911 that appears to have developed an oil leak. I’ve been try to find the oil leak, and I’ve noticed that I see and smell oil burning from the passenger side rear wheel. Smoke was specifically coming out of the vent seen in the picture below. I’ve been flipping through the manual and searching on the forums but haven’t been able to identify what the component is for.

Any help in identifying this component or why there is light oil smoke coming from it would be greatly appreciated.

That’s the charcoal canister for gas fumes. There shouldn’t be any oil in it
There is an oil line inside the wheel house that runs from the oil filter console to the thermostat that is cloth covered rubber and may be sweating from age and exposure.
