Front Sway Bar Help please

After a frustrating weekend rebuilding front calipers, I decided to put in my new front sway bar bushings...as long as I was there. Now I can't get the sway bar back in the A-arm bushings. I did a search and it sounds like some have removed t-bars and A-arm to get it in. I just had an alignment and c/b so I really don't want to remove anything. I've been jacking up one side trying to get enough distance but am still off by 1/2 inch or so.
Anyone have a good procedure to do this without removing t-bars and a-arms?
Thanks,

Release the strut from the ball joint to allow one of the arms to drop more. Put the other side of the bar in as far as it will go.
