I don’t know the ‘87 wire colors. I avoid ‘84 and newer wiring due to all the changes they made to the wiring and connectors. On ‘83 and earlier the low beams were yellow coming from the hi/lo switch.

Current travel direction by convention is from 'positive' higher level to 'negative' lower level.

Backfeeding is flow of electrical energy in the reverse direction from its normal flow.

Bad ground connections can result in circuits finding alternate grounds. Double filament bulbs with a bad ground of one lamp will cause the current to find a ground through the bulb on the opposite side of the car. The bulb can light even when they should not - like when there is seemingly no power to it.
I think you know a little about electrical wiring but not enough that you should be talking about it.

current flow is negative to positive.
when I modeled transistors in electronics school we did negative to positive.
we were also taught that there are 2 theories, pos to neg and neg to pos.

also, current flow direction has NOTHING to do with what ever it is you are trying to explain.

I answered the OP in a PM but the wire from the turn sw changes color in a connector.
I cant see the color that well on my diagram as the ones I have really suck. but it changes to a solid color.
