Is it possible to change the valve steam seal on a 2.2l without taking the heads of ?

Yes. You’ll need the two tools, P7I and P7E. Check the valve guides for clearance though. It’s very likely that they’re worn.

I have recently replaced all seals on the drivers side bottom bank and now will be replacing the other side. The wrench do did the rebuild installed the seals VERY hard and tore them.

BTW, I did this with then engine in tact and in the car.
