Yellow and green is always my favorite.
As an aside, I know of a couple of people (Ken Coad for one) with 2.7 Carrera's who are thinking of backdating them to RS spec. Interestingly, they are considering this not on performance grounds, but as a way of increasing the value of the cars. Does anyone have any views of this? I.e., is an RS replica woth more than a mint 2.7 Carrera? Al G. |

This subject is covered in the April 2003 edition of 911 & P World. Josh Sadler of Autofarm is quoted as saying that an £8000 SC rebuilt will be worth £15K max, but £20K as an RS replica. It is something I have considered as there are a few 74/75 Carreras around at sensible money, and a backdate can be done for £3 -£5 if the base car is rust free.

Raynauld,
That is one clean car. IMHO, blue has been overdone. I personally would go with black, but I am not sure it is original. Al G |

Nick,
Doesn't Josh have a vested interest in talking up values of replicas just at the moment... Al G |

What? and use 911 & P World as a promotional medium? Henry at Pretige gets a good mention as well

I'd love to backdate my SC. If I were to change the colour I'd go for gulf colours like on the this ST or somethin inspired by the 908 and prototype 917's - white with black wheels, a green nose and a few carefully placed stickers. The black and orange samson rsr is nice too...

Andy, according to the Carrera RS book, the production yellow RS (as well as all othe colors other than GPW) came standard with black "Carrera RS" and "Porsche" striping on the rear deck, with black "Carrera" striping available for the sides on special order only (not often ordered). The standard anodized and black "star" pattern was used on the Fuchs. The Grand Prix White RS came with Black, India Red, Mexico Blue or Viper Green striping with matching color Fuchs centers. The RSRs could be had with any color combo, but without colored center Fuchs. There were exceptions to this (Black RS with red striping), so yellow with green was available for the RSR and may have been requested for an RS - any documented examples?

I am the second owner of the car. In '75 Porsche went to the tea tray (don't want to start the tea tray vs. whale tail debate). I believe the '74 RS's came with this tail.
Mine is a late build '74 so from what I understand, Porsche sometimes used what they had. This one came with the tea tray. I have thought about going to a duck tail but as you say "$2,200". I know that mine is an original so I'll keep it around.
