1983 SC Running Rich

Hey everybody, I'm hoping someone has a suggestion or two and can help me with this problem. I have a 1983 Targa all stock except for SSI exhaust. The car ran great. Then a few weeks ago after a wash and wax it started right up ran great for about 30 seconds,
then started running extremely rich and missing. I found a few drops of water on the distributor cap but that was all. The car will start instantly and run great for about 30 seconds, hot or cold. I have checked everything, relays, hoses and even a smoke test.
I am thinking it may be simple but wanted to check before I start replanting parts.

Why do you think it's rich? Lean running is rough also. When the oxy sensor relay that runs the computer and frequency valve fails, they go way lean and rough. Same fuse as the dome light, for starters. Try unplugging the relay under the passenger seat and see if it stays the same or runs worse. Should lean out and run worse if the system was operation properly.

Hi, thanks for the fast response. I think its rich because it has a strong fuel smell when running. The relay was the first thing I checked, dome light works, tried new relay, fuse ok. No change unplugging it. I don't think washing the car did it, I think it is just coincidence. Plugs, wires, compression ok. Tried different coil, checked FV. The next step is injectors and fuel distributor. I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks

No change unplugging it, so,

the frequency valve is not working and it's way lean, like I said above. There should be a change for the worse if the relay is unplugged. Was the frequency valve buzzing when you checked it?
