How do you Know you have been Lucky or “Blessed”?

When you have your engine in the Stand in your Garage and as you are Rotating the Engine, you hear something fall on the Floor!!

Now, is there a Positive way to secure that Cam Plug In Place? What Glue / Sealer are people using?

Here is my Cure. I was planning to use Permatex Aviation Form a Gaskets And Found it’s Max Temp is 400 and the stuff I used is 500 degrees. Then I Counter sunk the Screw holes and used Stainless 6 x 12 x 1.00 Phillips Screws. I also only Coated the Plug, so no Sealant would be pushed into the Cam Area!

That’s going to hurt resale value a bit.
Horrible, just horrible.
Punish yourself sufficiently, you deserve it.

?? here we have “Basically” a Soft Plug at the end of the Cam Tower with “3” -6 mm Threaded Screw Holes (So the Same Cam Tower can be used on the Right or Left Hand Side) that had a “Factory” installed Glued in Plug, Fall out of (I guess the Glue after “40” years got tired) and I not only Glued it back in, But beveled the Threaded Holes (So the Holding Screws would be Flush) and Not rub against the Oil Cooler on the Right Hand Side To 100% Guarantee the Plug cannot come out until “It” needs to removed.

I have looked through Pelican and have seen Several cases of where this very Plug came out causing all of the Oil to be lost and the Car Towed. That was not something I want for the Price of Porsche design Purity.

Plus. It is behind the Oil Cooler on the Right and behind the Engine sheet metal on the Left Side.

So when or if yours comes out, remember this thread
