Anyone going to Limerock this weekend for the IMSA?

Good morning all.

I will be heading to Lime Rock Park for the IMSA race Saturday, parking in the Porsche corral, and checking out the events in the Porscheplatz, but it is going to 94deg!

This is only my second time here but if anyone has tips to stay cool please share.

I was going to post this in the regional forums but that place is dead..

I'm going. Parking in the corral as well. If I get there early enough, and there is still room, I will set up a pop-up tent for shade at the top of the hill. You are welcome to grab some shade there, otherwise I would set up a chair under one of the big trees.

It's a tan Coleman pop-up and I'll have a Clemson hat on.

I'm going. Last year, PCA had a tent with some TVs and a little a/c, so you may be able to get a break from the heat. I don't know why they schedule this in July every year--fall would be so much better!

I am an engineer with Team TGM MPC series . We are defending champions at LRP! Stop by the hauler and say hello. Also a CT native ... If its hot humid with no wind in that basin where LRP is located there is not much escape.... hydrate well ..otherwise, always a great show ... Frank Rauscher

Looks like we will all be trying to stay cool together. Awesome information. Thanks everyone.

That pop up tent is a great idea thank you for the offer. I may bring a beach umbrella.

I was supposed to go but instead I have a date with a set '68 window frames. Heat is going to be too much.

LRP has a finite number of days where they can run unrestricted sound. Normally the track is required to run at 88db or below if I recall correctly. So, scheduling “real” races to stay economically viable is a challenge.

I was also planning to go, but the heat on top of a 3 hr drive in each direction is too much this year. Plus for me a big part of the fun is taking photos, and the weather isn't going to make trekking all around the track with a bunch of heavy gear much fun. One year I GPS'd my steps, and I walked something like 6 miles.

I'll be at the vintage races on Labor Day weekend unless it's a washout.

Mark

it was brutal . just brutal . but TEAM TGM pulled it out in GS.... tires going off in closing laps, getting hunted down by that audi with fresh rubber, hugh plumb did a masterful job... helped by some non contesting ca rs in between... only one yellow in the race,..... i will remember this dayt in november when CVR has there last DE...
