Help--my decklid won't open

I put my ducktail on last week and now the da*n thing won't open! What can I do? Any tricks? I need to take the car in for some work on the starter and get it prepped for a DE coming up too.

Just a thought get a helper and while pulling the cable have your helper gently push down and or pull up the lid .

There is a recent thread on this topic if you search. I had a similar experience with an aftermarket decklid, and the advice was all over the place. Nothing worked for me, short of cutting a hole in the panel directly beneath the latch, and levering the pin slightly with a screwdriver while someone pulled on the cable. Once released, we found that the latch was adjusted too far rearward, and ended up having to grind out the slots for the bolts slightly to get more adjustment.

The pin is hanging due to misalignment.

Try pushing the lid side-to-side while someone pulls the handle. You may also slide a putty knife in and push the pin around enough to free it.

Whoa, Deja Vu! Here, read this thread.
