Installing a power antenna (bought from pelican)

My 79 930 has never had the correct power antenna only a manual one..

I recently decided it would be nice to have power antenna only problem is I have nothing to go off of as mine was removed and a manual antenna installed..

I would like reference pictures of how it it is mounted to the finder.

I know I’m missing the antenna securing brace at the bottom of the antenna so pictures of this would be nice as well.

Also a wiring diagram would be very helpful.

I bought the hirschmann power antenna that is available from pelican.

You are going to find that new Hirschmann fits like dung. The 930 fender is different and I have two incorrect antennas in a cabinet to prove it.
The fender angle is steeper and requires a taller base. Start searching e-bay and the parts section here. Nothing but the original base will look right.

Wrong base height for reference

The wiring runs over to the drivers side. There is a connection at the ignition switch with an in-line fuse holder.

Installing a power antenna (bought from pelican)

Thanks! I’m wondering what that bracing bracket bolts to?

Can I remove and install the new antenna with the wheel turned or do I need to remove the wheel?

Yea, hard to get a good pic. I would need to pull the tire. The vertical brace bolts to the back of the inner fender area. The opposite side of the door hinge mount panel.
The wide part of the antenna body is parallel to the fender so it tucks back into the area between the fender and tub.

Did I explain that to where it makes sense?

Yes thanks much I guess I just need a diagram.

Can this be done with wheel on or do I need to remove the wheel. My 930 is stock ride height.
