Went with 17x8 et30 and 17x9.5 et20 directly from MOMO. Now I have to find some rubber to wrap them with, and based on this thread, 215/45/17 and 245/40/17 looks like the way to go. |
X JBM X, how did this end up working out for you? Thanks,
Drew |
Lots of good info here, especially the spreadsheet excerpt. I made up something similar to determine the parameters for 17's on my '87 3.2.
I'm currently running 7.5 x 17 ET23 on the front and 9 x 17 ET15 on the rear. The very well-used Michelin Pilot Sport 225/46-17's I got with the front wheels were just too wide unless I wanted to raise the ride height excessively and/or run way too much camber. My current tyres are Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 (which I like a lot) in sizes 215/45R17 and 255/40R17. Despite going down from 225 to 215 on the front, I did find that the ET23 offset made it advisable to partially roll the front wing (sorry - fender) flanges to avoid upper sidewall damage. |
Best tire size
Just bought the MOMO heritage 6's , 17x8 front, 17x9.5 back. Trying to figure out what size tire to use with the least work on the car (1985Carrera 3.2 coupe).
Wondering how yours turned out X JBM X Need to buy tires now. |
^^^^ 225/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear....
Cheers |

215/45 & 245/40 or 225/45 & 255/40 are the main choices use the smaller for a livelier car and the bigger for more grip http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1641235859.gif |
