Oil leak from exhaust header and lots of smoke

Hi Guys,

'82 SC.

The car had been sitting for a little over a month and this morning I was greeted with this oil puddle. When I parked the car it ran great no smoke, good power, runs just fine.

I had a poke around underneath and found this. It looks like it's coming from the number 3 exhaust header ... there's quite a bit of oil. The feeling in my stomach is not good right now. Yes my heat exchanges are toast.

I started it and let it run for about a minute. It smoked like crazy from the exhaust. This was to be expected obviously but it was getting worse so I switched her off. The motor sounded to be running just fine. I think I killed every mosquito in my neighborhood.

What do you all think am I dealing with here? Some kind of blown seal (rocker shaft?) or something more serious like an oil ring or valve guide failure?

Thanks,

G.

Geez I hope you are right! Oil just leaking past seals? So just drive it until the smoke stops?
