Unwanted Heat
Yes I searched, but I'm stumped. Stock 88 Carrera 3.2 and heat is blowing in the cabin regardless of levers down and center dial set to 0. Hot air distribution works properly and blows heat at windscreen or footwells depending on red knob slider, but the heat is constant and never off. Located in a warmer climate so I don't really want heat... ever.
Any thoughts other than a heater backdate/blower removal? |
Get under car and adjust the diverters so they close all the way.

Sounds like the flapper box valves are stuck closed regardless of lever position. Lots of posts and how to’s for fixing.
Here is a recent one. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/1035442-heat-getting-into-cabin-center-lever-off-after-ssi-upgrade.html |
I had the exact problem, it was the flapper boxes under the car. Mine were stuck open, I just had to wiggle it around and get it to close.

I had the same issue, but the valves were able to move, but the cable was stuck. Replacing the cable solved my issue.
I replaced those 2 items (for a 911 SC 1980): - 901 424 704 01 (valve guides, 2 pieces) - 911 424 701 02 (cable itself, only 1 for the car) |
