Rear Wing Take Off

Before I purchased my car, I was looking for a 911 w/out spoilers. During my search, they kind of grew on my and now I like them. I would, however, like to take mine off and see what my car looks like with out them. I know you shouldn't take one off without taking the other off too. The front looks easy to take off. What about the rear wing? Is there anything special I need to know about taking it off? Do I need a grill once it is off? Is it easy to get it back on?

Any advice would be apprecitate.

TIA

All advise says to have both or neither, but I can tell you that I have had just the front since I bought my car (PO took the rear off, damn, I wanted spoilers), I drive it everyday on the freeway, I have had the car to redline in 5th, and I have never felt ill effects, of course I don't take corners at 130 either. It's probably better with both or neither, but with just the front you'll probably be ok.

Mine is tracked with front without rear, and is fine. All the number suggest that it would be better with the rear wing, but it is certainly not twitchy at 130+ end of straight speeds.

If you leave it off and want to sell it, Steve M & I have first dibs, OK?

Removal of the rear wing will leave you with about 12 holes in the deck lid itself, plus of course, the large opening where the black grill was located.

Yep, what MM83targa said. There will be mounting holes on your deck lid that the plastic grille does not cover up. So, the easiest (but not cheapest) solution is to find a stock deck lid, and just swap them out when you feel the need!
