part ID request

Hello, trying to clean up interior on 78 911SC and ran across this unit that was tucked behind the wood panel on the passenger side. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sure looks like the thermostat and fan speed controller for an A/C unit, but not like I've seen before. Try turning on the key and moving the knobs around....one should adjust the fan speed, assuming the AC blower motor is still there.

Thank you @blucille for the response, unfortunately no compressor in the engine bay but the other bits seem to be still in the smuggler's box.
Tried the fan control seems to be dead. Now I gotta decide to keep the rest of AC components or not.

I'm ditching my ac not worth the trouble or weight for upstate NY let me know if you need any parts.
