Large hard rubber oil hose leak

I just got my 3.2 back from a complete top end and it runs great but this morning I noticed a small oil leak from the car on the passenger side alone the side of the car. Not a lot but it drips near where the hose is clamps on. I cannot afford to change out the hose at this time . Is there a temp fix I can do? Some kind of heat shrink or special tape? It unclamps very easy and I could clean it and repair it. The leak comes out in a very small drip . I don’t think the shop noticed it. Again, it is the large main oil hose that runs the length of the car on the passenger side. Thank you.

Hose Nick? On the passenger side a hose would be for AC. Maybe oil leaking from one of the the short hoses to the front cooler and running down to the AC hose?

At first I thought you were describing the S-hose between the tank and the engine, and I would have suggested not taking a risk with that one.

Can you post a photo?

Mark

Ok mark. I’ll send a pic. There are two hoses that run the length of the car . One is metal , the other is hard rubber. It is leaking from the hard rubber hose. Would be great if it was from the AC hose!!!

That probably means it simply needs to be tightened.

There should be two hard brass oil lines running to and from the front cooler, and one rubber A/C line that runs from the evaporator to the compressor on the passenger side. Also there shouldn't be any hose clamps. The A/C hose should have o-ring fittings crimped on either end.

Here is a photo from under the car

Oil line or AC line? Slight leak from the hard rubber line that goes from the back of the car to the front of the car

I did not mean hose clamps, sorry. Was talking about the fittings that hold the hose to the bottom of the car.

If that is the case, perhaps the bracket cut through the rubber hose and you are leaking PAG (A/C compressor) oil. There are no rubber engine oil lines running front to back unless a previous owner did a really hack repair job.

I’ll return to the shop . Could be leaking down. Looks like motor oil.

Sounds like an oil cooler line. If they unhooked from the thermostat you could have a leak. I believe there is a crossover line that goes over or under the transmission over to the drivers side of the car. Check those fittings and make sure they are tight.
