replacement fuel injector for 3.2L

Finally got my 3.2L Carrera out last week after it's long 10 month winter storage. It was not running on all cylinders as 2 injectors failed to come to life. Removed the injectors and quickly goth them unstuck using a 9 volt battery, compressed air, and spray cleaner. Car is now running great. I started looking at replacement injectors and it seems like the supply of suitable Bosch injectors has dried up. I ordered 6 new Lucas D1540BA injectors as they are supposed to be a direct replacement for the Bosch 0280150158.

260cc/min
2.5 OHMS
Peak and hold Amps: 4.5
21 degree spray

My plan is to eventually replace all the original Bosch injectors with the Lucas ones and send the originals in for a service and then keep them as spares.

Has anybody tried the Lucas D1540BA injectors?

Thanks

Mr injector turns them around in a day or two. Send them in a small usps priority mail box and you will have very little down time.

Mark,
Good work with finding an affordable direct equivalent. I don't think you will notice any difference between the Lucas and Bosch 158's in practice.

I gave up trying to find one and realised if I'm going to swap them out I may as well use a modern equivalent:

Mepstein; thanks for the recommendation to send them into Mr. Injector. I will definitely send all 6 in for a servicing. The lack of use over the last several years combined with old gas definitely was factor causing 2 stuck injectors. I'll start driving it more often. Too bad here in Edmonton Alberta Canada the driving season is so short.

Peter; Glad you have had great success with the 0280155931's. Great to know that there are modern injectors that are reasonable priced that work well with our older cars. Hoping I have similar success with the Lucas injectors.

On a related note, does anybody reccomend a fuel injector cleaner for these older 911's??? I added some Liqui Moly Injector Cleaner last fall right before I parked it for the winter. Unfortunately, I drove it straight home from the gas station and the cleaner didn't get much of an opportunity to do any cleaning.

Mark, I live in Wpg and recently when on a quest for some injector cleaner that is locally available in Canada and has PEA. That's the stuff that is in Techron. I found one that is available at CDN tire, Gumout REGANE Complete Fuel Injector Cleaner. I found the MSDS (Google) and it has 10% to 30% by weight of PEA, the real amount is a trade secret.... $11 for a bottle. I have run two bottles through my 1988 3.2 and I think my idle is a little smoother, or it is just a placebo effect. YMMV! As well, when I put my car away for the winter, I use Sta-Bil in the gas.

Snitzler; Thanks for the tip on the Gumout REGANE Complete Fuel Injector cleaner, I will pick some up and give it a try. I always store the car with a full tank of Shell Premium fuel as it is still ethanol free in Alberta and add Sta-Bil. Problem is the last 4 years or so I haven't been driving it enough. Only burning about 1/2 a tank or so. I top it up in the fall right before storage. This year I'll be sure to at least burn through a full tank and fill it up with fresh fuel right before I goes away for the winter.

I like BG 44K. Not sure if it's available in Canada, though.

I only ever buy Chevron Supreme gas; techron in the additive pack. I never buy bottles of snake oil.

Another vote for ditching 40-year old technology and using modern injectors. They've come a long way since the 80's...

Depending on your location, I've also used this company located north of ATL and would recommend them: https://fuelinjectorconnection.com/
