72 911T matching numbers search help
Halo,
I am planning to buy 1972 911T project car from my friend, but he has no proof that car has original engine and trans., what is the fastest way to get info about these numbers ? ( seller can't wait longer than a week, COA process takes more than 4 weeks, any advise ? ). I could pay some money for the information. Vin number is 9113501725. Engine Nr. 6539192 Transmission Nr. 7652088. |
That's a 1973 911t with sportomatic gearbox.

CoA (now called PPS) doesn't list the engine or transmission numbers any longer, the new process requires you to have the car physically inspected by a Porsche Classic certified dealer. This won't work for your needs, obviously.
I don't know if you can still do this, but in the past I have gotten verbal confirmation of engine number match by calling PCNA on the phone and asking. Tell them you are looking to buy the car and need a confirmation to make the buying decision. If they will still do this, you would give them the VIN and engine/transmission numbers you have, and they would either say yes they match, or no they don't. They will not tell you the correct numbers if the ones in the car are not matching. |
