Cool ROH Wheels

Does anyone know anything about the ROH line of wheels? They are made in Australia and are available in some Porsche sizes such as 7 x 16 and 8 x 16. Price is not bad, I found a new set for $550.00 for 2 - 7x16's and 2 - 8x16's. See picture.

Thanks,

Fred Cook

They are ok. I think it is safe to assume they are inferior to a Fuchs (they'll be much heavier). In Australasia they are not known as a high quality wheel - rather a good value one.

Simmons on the other hand are supposed to be great (I want a set of 16x6 and 16x7 with 911R offset for the back). Simmons are 3 piece wheels.

While I agree with CamB that they are not as light as Fuchs, few cast wheels are. However, I understand that they are quite strong. I personally like the ZS Series wheel.

Its not that I don't like them or think they might be good, I just struggle because most sets of those wheels come on cars that look like this around here:

If I lived in the US, it would probably be easier to like them.

My friend wrapped his 928 around a tree, his car burned, fortunately, he lived. His wheels came out fine, but one was a little crusty but it cleaned up well. Seem to be good wheels.

ROH are nice wheels for the money.... HOWEVER, Do not use them on the track, they DO break under stress ! I have seen this happen and it was not pretty. For a regular street car They are well made and hold up nicely for what you pay you get your moneys worth.

I've had three sets over the last 10 years, two sets were used as track rims. Never had a problem, nice quality rims.

This is how they look on a 911. I sold those wheels to Carston, Eric. They're a little heavier than Fuchs but not bad.

These are the ZR6 wheels which were common on Chevy Impalas and also Mustangs. They're actually stronger than what a lot of people think, according to some of the reports I've seen (google for it if you're interested).

Call Jeff Curran at Group A Wheels 480-813-4776.

He really knows about ROH and Simmons wheels. He can tell you the pros and cons and also help with tires.

Jeff was very helpful when I bought my wheels and tires and paid great attention to detail. He took the time to get the offset I wanted and tell me the size limits for the tires. I get tires for all my cars and company vans thru him now. He would be happy to ship to you if needed. Tell him I recommended him and he may be able to work a better deal for you.

Just wanted to give Kudos to a good company and pass his name on to fellow Pelicans. He drives a Porsche so he can't be all bad.

Jeff Martin
