Best Vinyl for Dash Recover and Good Headliner?
All,
I am recovering an old dash for my 77 911. Anyone have suggestions on the actual material to use. I would like to match the grain to the original as much as budget allows. I have heard 2 way stretch vynil is the way to go and there are plenty of options on Amazon that are cheap but I would prefer something that is vetted to work well for this application. Any info would be great! I am also doing the headliner. I have found plenty of instructions on that and am preparing for a battle but I haven't seen much for recommendations on the actual product. German vs Domestic, brand, etc. Again, any advice is welcome. Car is a sunroof coupe btw. Also looking for dark brown interior. Let me know! Thanks, Shane ![]() ![]()

dash recover
Hello Shane,
A few months ago I recovered a dash for my SC. I used 4- way stretch vinyl that I purchased on line. Attached is my Pelican forum link that describes the process that I used step by step with pictures. 1982 SC dash restoration Perhaps this might help. Dave |

Lakewell will sell you the Porsche vinyl that comes direct from Porsche classic. You can use it to recover anything you desire. I purchased a new dash from them and also some Porsche vinyl by the yard to recover things like door tops. Very pleasant to deal with and the pricing is very reasonable. The shipping didn’t even take very long!
