I need advice on how to change the power mirror gasket .
Don't want to break the mirror . Does the mirror just pop off ?

Thanks in advance

Easy way, cut it at the bottom and slip it around the wires, if you can put up with the little gap.

Don’t cut the gasket, it’s not that much work to take the mirror off. Here is the procedure from my 87 manual.

Take a quick picture of the harness before you disassemble to be sure you go back in the right order.
I did this process before getting car PPF installed. Installed new gaskets easily and reassemble with no real fuss.

Thanks! I assume the flag mirrors are all the same throughout the years? I have a 77 and was thinking I need to remove the door panel to back date the mirror.

exactly like this...to remove the male connectors you can use old type pen (metal not plastic) it has the same diameter to push the connectors out of the socket..

Yep yep....I ended up purchasing this tool kit. Comes in handy for all types of electrical connectors and has the correct one for the Porsche pins.
