SHE RUNS!!!!!!!
It took about 15 minutes of cranking to prime the lines at first but it slowly came to life. Each time we cranked it started a little longer (more woofs) Finally it just went and stayed on.. It poped right up to 3K RPM (whoops) I wasn't reading any oil pressure so I didn't keep it on long but she ran like the beast she is. She didn't backfire or anything just took awhile starting. SHe develped alot of smoke out the engine bay which turned out to be coming from an exhaust leak. (old exhaust, the one I've got from dtw's is waiting to go on) We tried to start her one last time and she poped off right away. Then it was too dark to do much and I"m still worried about no pressure (I think it's electrical or a bad sender, it didn't move at all)

Good for you Tim!
![]() As for the no oil pressure, I'm with you. If the gauge and sender was working, you would at least have some oil pressure when you first started. |

Great news and good work, Tim!

Next time prime the injection pump first. Then she'll fire right off. I use a drill and a big rubber band.
But, good job! ![]()

hmm. didn't think of that but when I striped it down to a long block I purposly didnt' touch the crank and pully on the MFI pump so that I didn't have to reset the MFI timing. I know it's probably sissy but then again today was the first time I sat behind the wheel of a running 911

Thanks ed, I've got at least 2 more guages in a box in the garage. What I'll do is try tapping the guage firs and buy a mechanical guage second and attach that just to be sure. Then work backwards from there.
