Tips on removing fresh air plenum?

Is there any trick to removing the fresh air plenum?

I’ve followed the steps I’ve found in Wayne’s book and a couple of posts, but it does not want to come out. Driver side is loose but the passenger side feels like it’s hung on something. I’m afraid to yank on 36-year-old plastic much harder.

Can the drain tube be removed from the bottom? I read somewhere it will slide down into the hole a bit and then the whole thing will come out. Doesn’t seem to want to compress much for me.

I’m sure this isn’t this hard. Maybe this will look easier in the morning. In the meantime, let me know if I missed something.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

It’s all a bit of pushing and shoving... there is a rubber gasket at the top that is probably dried onto both surfaces on the passenger side. Don’t think you would want to pull the drain hose out from the bottom. Even if you could, you wouldn’t want to as it’s a PITA to put it back. Get the leading edge of the hose with a screw driver and pry it downward.
Good luck
Johan
