Compression check

Can somebody tell me what tools are required to do a compression check?

Compression tester and sparkplug wrench. It's very easy. Disconnect your fuel pump relay and coil.

Just pull the plugs, screw the tester in, and crank the engine. The guage will hold at the compression value so you can record it. Then you reset the guage and move to the next cylinder.

Thanks. Didn't know it was that easy.

Be sure to do a compression test with the engine warmed up.

Bob,

In your case you can't warm the engine up if it won'y run. You can still get a general baseline with it cold. Just make sure all your plugs are out of the engine and you pull the power to your fuel pump since you're having that over gassing problem. Then you crank it over and get your readings one cylinder at a time. Then it'll be time to get to the bottom of that excess fuel. Hang in there buddy, you're real close to having it whipped!
