sump plate torque and sealant questions

Anyone know the proper tightening torque for the 6mm nuts that mount the oil sump plate to the bottom of the engine?
- Also do you use any sealant on the gasket or plate or just install it dry? Thanx L

No sealant. Proper torque is less than one might think. Virtually just a little tighter than finger tight. If it leaks, it's because someone overtightened it and deformed the flatness of the plate.

The spec is 7 lb/ft. I use Curl-t sparingly and have no leaks.

Just use a 1/4" socket wrench and cinch them up gently.

one more thing..make sure you use 2 gaskets...and the best is graphite type..use nylon nuts with alu washers not any other nuts with springs washers....
