Porsche 911 clutch cable connection to pedal cluster

Here i made the video how to connect easy the clutch cable to your pedal cluster cross shaft.
Made sure you route the cable correctly at the transmission(picture bellow)
Once you have the cable in the car also make sure that the cable is all the way in where it goes to the body tube.
Up front the pedal cluster is bolted.Do not try to connect the cable to the cluster(cross shaft) if you just rebuild it and it is loose. It has to be mounted.
Once you attach the little nut and the clevis insert it over the C.S. and insert the clevis pin.Make sure you do not cross the the throttle linkage with the cable.
After you have it connected tighten the small nut with 10mm wrench.
Very easy job....

no really happy with the new cable, it has 17mm nuts instead the original 15mm.

Hi Ivan, you commented 'no really happy with the new cable, it has 17mm nuts instead the original 15mm.' The bigger problem is that the washers are larger in diameter too, and they don't fit in the recess provided in the casing. That recess guarantees perfect centering and alignment of the cable guide. When I recently swapped my clutch cable I ran into that problem too, and only found out the problem when discovering the new cable did cause some friction. I purchased from another brand/&supplier, and that went perfectly. Where the arrow goes on the picture is the correct version with the washer seated in the transmission case.

I had mine from RosePassion too, and got a refund! The part is not that expensive, but it's more a matter of principle and making sure they do something about it so future buyers get a better product. I got a correct one from fvd.net/de-en. That being said, over the last 3 years I bought a ton of parts from rosePassion and could not be more happy. Both about the quality of the parts and the customer service. So this one was a rare exception, and they did not argue at all but just payed me back and apologized. I am a happy customer!

Nice !
This is in my todo.

What is the fine adjustment where you backed out a tad at the 0:45 mark ?

Are you asking how much is the cable shoving trough the clevis?
If yes , it is about 1 cm...

Yes, I presume done by experience as is the case in the video for the last couple turns between 0:42 and 0:45. Is the adjustment to account for cable length variance, engagement height, both ?

yes..too long through the clevis you would hit the crosshaft with it.Too short you will not have enough threads at the cable adjustment at the 15mm nut which secures the cable to the bracket. When the cable will stretch you would have to reposition the cable at the clevis anyway...
besides this be aware of the crap quality of latelly produced cables..

Ivan
