Spray-on bedliner material for P-Car
Hi Everyone,
Does it make sense to use a spray-on truck bedliner outfit to apply that polymer material to the under carriage and inside fenders of a 911? That stuff is so tough, I was wondering if it would be a good choice for a 911 that is used in a wet climate like Oregon. Thanks for the input. Troy

Troy, If weight and cost is not concern then I don't see a problem.. But why not just use a Standard under coating product like Por15?

I'd probably use Wurth SKS Stoneguard. Its a latex product that can be put on thin or thick (looks a lot like the coating on your fuel tank), and won't erode or be as messy as a petroleum undercoating. Available in grey, black, etc. 1 bottle and their special gun would run about $100 and do 2 fenders (estimate). You have to go straight to Wurth to get it (look for their website), order with credit card over the phone.

Jorge and BG:
I thought of the weight thing. I was so impressed with the durability of the spray on liner that I had to ask the question. You can get it in any color too. More of an academic question at this point anyway. Thanks, Troy

Buddy o' mine had his brand new truck sprayed with the spray-in bedliner. Some overspray got on the roof. The bedliner co. had to pay for a complete repaint of the vehicle--that stuff NEVER comes off.

I had my fenders and quarter panels treated with Rhino liner when I did a total restoration on my 74 I am very happy with the results. Bill

I've seen that stuff sold at Kragen for you to do it yourself.

Funny...I had the same thought after having a couple of pickup beds done...that it would make a great undercoat.
