Turbo tie rods

Just finished installing turbo tie rods on my '87. All went well but for the boots. On compression, they seem to "bunch up" in spots rather than nicely compress. Boots are not twisted and are set properly on the rod. Is this normal? If not, what did I do wrong and how can it be fixed? Thanks..........

not much you can do, as long as they're on the rack all the way. you don't drive full lock much anyway.

John- Thanks for the kind reply. Am I to assume you have seen the same thing? I guess the part that bothered me was that when the steering wheel is centered, the boots are not returning to their "normal" shape. They are retaining a kink or two. Is this normal also?
Thanks again.
