4-pin vs 5-pin headlight washer relay on my '79 SC
Anyone dealt with the 4-pin vs 5-pin headlight washer relay issue on these cars?
The part listed in the PET, on Pelican, everywhere for these cars from '74 on is 928.618.111.00. That part is a 5-pin relay and, according to everything I've read, it is correct for some of the cars. But the original relay in my car is a 4-pin relay. It's a Hella part # 5WD 002789-00. The 5-pin relay will not work in my car. Anyone dealt with this or have a source for the correct relay for my car? |

Same question
I did a search and found this unanswered post.
I have the same question as I am trying to get the headlight washer system functional on my 79 930. I have a 4 pin relay the same as the original post but the pelican and all other source replacement is a 5 pin. I have googled and gone to the local auto parts store to see if they have an alternative. Is there a good way to test the relay or rebuild it if I cannot find a replacement, or does anyone have an idea what to use in its place? Hella's online catalogue shows no 4 pin headlight washer relays - all 5 pins |

The center terminal is just another 87 terminal, 87A. If the circuit doesn't use it, it doesn't matter.

Thank you so much.
Will the spade plug then in the center just slide between the other connectors allowing engagement into the plugs? |
