Thermal time switch

Hello I have a 76 911s. I purchased a new thermo time switch. I have the red and yellow wires that goes to it but need to know witch wire goes on the large post of the switch and which one goes on the small post. I have wire diagrams but it doesn’t explain this. Thanks

The wires should have corresponding connectors. one larger than the other.

i didnt realize the 76 even had a thermo time switch .. i though that started on the SC ? does that go on the drivers side timing cover ?

Red/black on large post. Yellow on small post.
TTS started in maybe 75 when they got rid of the warm up lever beside the brake.

oh that would explain it .. my buddy has a middie .. he must have a 74 because i know he does not have it. I mistakenly made the assumption that entire generation did not have it..

so that must also mean TTS cars also have CSV's ? as i think they work had in hand right ? TTS triggers CSV on cold engine ?

Exactly; TTS provides the ground, provided you're cranking and its internal heater is still below the preset temperature, for the CSV.

May make less difference than many think; I ran the 930 one winter and it'd fire instantly with 1/4" of ice on the windshield. In the spring, I realized the TTS was disconnected..

Sure did. Replaced with a throttle switch and lever for a couple of years with CIS and then came back.
