'89 Gas Gauge - Oil Level Wires Help
Hello Tech Forum,
My diagnosing skills are falling off. Can someone please check the wires on my 89 3.2 fuel gauge? It looks like there are 4 functions: - night light - low fuel level light - fuel level - oil level. Functions as pictured from left to right: low fuel light, fuel level, oil level and night light. I assume the black/red wires are grounds. The ohms across the night light bulb is ~14. When I turn on the head lights I don't get 12 volts across the two night light wires (black/red and plain black. The issue I'm having is the low fuel light is on all the time and the night light doesn't come on. Not sure now (can't remember) about the fuel level but the oil level is working properly. Recently I had the glass replaced by PA Speedo but no reason to think they did anything improper. Please advise. Thanks.

okay you win, I was lazy - I looked in Bentley and it seems I plugged the whole fuel reserve socket into the illumination socket and vise versa. I think it is fixed now. Cross that off the list - now for the next 11 items.
