Are 996 CV Joints Rebuild-able?

I have a torn CV boot on the outer rear of my 996 C4S. I had tied up the brake wear sensors for a track day, and they ended up wound around the boot and cut it.

I've been looking at the 101 Projects book, but it is unclear whether the outer joint is rebuildable or not.

Has anyone had experience with this?

I don't have any noise from the CV joints - I was only thinking that if I'm going to take the axle off and take it apart, I might as well repack the joint. Secondarily, I find it easier to get the boot on with the axle apart - I haven't had luck with squeezing the boot over the fat end before.

First time working these, I soaked the outer joint with gasoline, then blew out with compressed air. Was able to inspect and re-pack.

Second time, I just re-packed. I think they will be fine until the day they make noise and need to be replaced.

Then that's what I'll do, thank you!
