Thanks guys. I got stuck in yesterday for a few hours and started to try to find homes for all the loose wires. The more I looked and the more crappy tape I removed, the more reasons I found to further consider a brand new harness. Lots of split wires and wires poorly joined. It's a fire waiting to happen I reckon.
Also pulled out this rainbow coloured harness that was barely connected to anything. Assume that was related to the radio that the previous owner attempted to install. I apologize... I completely forgot about my promise to snap so pics. I took these for you but I'm not sure how useful they are. Let me know if you want different views/angles. Facing the trunk from the front of the car - right side.
