I'v got a turbo whine but I don't have a turbo
 

Under meadim acceleration I get the sound of a turbo my dos't have one
the car runs verey well indeed, evrey thing looks ok ?
The car is a 85 carrera with a K&N and 1 in 2 out Dansk muffler. I don't minde the sound though, I wonder is this the norm??

It sounds (pun intended) like there might be a problem with one of the transmission bearings. Does the rear wheel configuration feel tight? Mabye a bad bearing there?

i am by no means a sixman but leaks in the air intake can also cause a Pseudo Turbo Cruiser effect.

George yu may be right with a vacume leak, and my be why the p-car is running so clean it could be running lean ? dos't run hot though,
