subject searching
 

Can anyone explain to me how the search facility works here?

Not how do you do it...I've doe it heaps before. I mean the actual process the search progresses though.

My problem is I occasionally type in something fairly common and get no results.

Just now I cut the words 'Fabspeed muffler' from someones post because I wanted to explore more on this item. I pasted this into the search box, changed the 'where to search' to 911 BB (where I got the two words) and hit search. My results was 0!

How can this be? :confused:

I've had this happen several times over fairly simple searches.

I just tried repeating your search & it came up with 70 posts on the subject.
However, I know what you mean - sometimes I use the search facility to find a thread that I have posted in & get zero responses from the search. If I try repeating the same request a bit later it might come up with 100+ responses !?
