3.6 conversion engine tins?
anyone know who makes any? im looking for the passenger side front (closest to the front of car).

Oh boy ... if you have to purchase they are rather pricey !
Patrick Motorsports sells a complete set for something like $1100. and i think Instant "G" also sells bits for engine tin conversions. I modified my existing 911 tin myself when i installed a 3.6 a few years back, i'm sure somebody must have documented the process somewhere as a lot of members have done this conversion ! |
If you are adding an engine mounted oil cooler, just use the engine tin for that area from any earlier 911; requiring only a little tweaking to bolt to the 3.6 side tin. I've seen a couple posts documenting the process of modifying the 3.6 tin if you are not adding the oil cooler. As Phil said....buying it is pricey....and that's an area that basically will never be seen so you can get creative and not be concerned about it looking perfect/factory.

Steve Timmons can help.

thanks fellas. i'm not running an engine oil cooler, just a twin set up up front. i have the 3.2 tins in now but just need the corner piece that closest to where the engine cooler would be. anyone know where i can score that piece to mod? i started to fab up an aluminum piece but lost interest a while back. i've been driving it and finally getting tired of cleaning up the engine bay from all the dust and rain water getting in.
