How do I get this Clutch Cable to Sit Flush!

Banging my head against the wall!

Replacing a broken clutch cable.... snaking the new cable in and I can't get it to sit flush againest the tunnel!!!!

Question, Could the old cable connection have ripped off and be stuck on the tunnel? Can anyone say if this connection looks right?

2nd question would be how to get this off? Thinking drill a hole in the end and run a wire through trying to pull it off that way?

Thanks!

New end will not slip onto tunnel connection...

You are correct the end of the old cable is still on the tunnel tube.
Take a pair of channel locks and twist and pull and it will come right off.

Wonderful, thanks so much for confirming what my brain was thinking. Now if only I could get the channel locks on it!

Thanks again Richard, Pelican helped me again!
