And it was on this day, the 29th of April, in the year 2003, that the OMRBCHWDP was born. Out of the mouths of babes...

Despite its simple beginning, the OMRBCHWDP aspires to greatness, as only those rich boys with cake holes that over moderate can.

I'm sure that t-shirts are in the works, as is a manifesto. And a web site, with companion dvd.

Better watch it, Sheriff Jack (founding member of the OMRBCHWDP) will silence you...

Embs 04-29-2003 04:40 PM

GULP....Please Sheriff Jack don't sentence this thread to the OT

nostatic 04-29-2003 04:42 PM

no, I think Marshall Jack (he got a promotion) would likely raise his glass and propose a toast, moderated though it be, then pour some firewater down his obsequious cake hole. All hail the OMRBCHWDP!

GULP...Marshall Jack I promise to watch all of your race videos of BBII, BB3, BB4 and perhaps even BB5 (the way things are going)
and I will only say positive things about people that you are buddies with (even if they aren't true). So from now on I will be a law abiding BBS member you can be proud of.

OK, I just can't stay out of this. Count me as another very satisfied Timmins customer. All I've bought from him was some trailing arm bushings, Magnicors and his homemade sway bar weld mounts. He gave me a fan housing for free. He's a great guy, is always fun to hang with and he answers every one of my annoying emailed questions within about 30 min. The guy never sleeps and he works long hours to keep us enthusiasts very happy. I'd buy a 3.6 off of him any day of the week and will always refer car buddies to him. Call me crazy.

Jack Olsen 04-29-2003 06:57 PM

Well. Look at this.

Isn't the guy in the picture gay? He's also rich. Two things I'm not. (Not that there'd be anything wrong with me being rich...) ;)

Todd, I want you to post as much about your bad experience with Timmins as you'd like, and I said as much in my original post.

The useful thing about this board is that it gives users a bigger statistical sampling to look at if they are considering an idea, or a project -- or have had a bad experience with a vendor. Your experience belongs in that sampling. I just didn't want it to be the only one, if someone should do a search in the future.

So, the facts. I'm not rich. I don't really think I over-moderate. I post more than the average amount of pictures, though.

Now, I do like cake. But isn't the expression 'pie hole?' And shouldn't there be a hyphen between over and moderating? Minor details -- a world domination plot is born.

i say we dress you guys in those foam sumo suits and have a brawl in the Pelican parking lot...that would be cool...

CamB 04-29-2003 09:25 PM

Ok, stop this.

I'm starting to become seriously attracted to the idea of having a mouth which could be referred to as an over-moderating rich boy pie hole.

But it sounds expensive, anmd I already spent lots of money going R-Gruppe...

Well, I'm sure the sheep would appreciate this...

I have started making stickers and T-shirts tonight. I need somebody's help with fonts, logos, and trademarks.

The shirts will have: SCWDPofOMRBCHWDP!

Adam 04-29-2003 10:35 PM

Poor old Paul...

He's asked about a possible fault with his 3.6 beast and ends up getting OMRBCHWDP, Sheep and excessive use of the word "Gulp". :D

CamB 04-29-2003 11:16 PM

Well, I'm sure the sheep would appreciate this

Sheep are the future - think about it - they are multi-use and the come in flocks. And they are fluffy and warm.

I don't think I can bring this back on topic, because Paul's question got answered.

speeder 04-30-2003 01:21 AM

The expression is in fact "pie hole", (from the 1993 film, "This Boy's Life"). Jack, as the manager of a video store not so long ago, would be an expert on this type of trivia. So much for the "rich boy" part. And just in case anyone thinks that moderators are "special people" in the Pelican world, I had the pleasure of introducing Jack and Wayne at the Ventura autofest last summer. Yes, that's right, Jack had been a moderator for a while and they had never met. I was a little surprised, and hey he works for free and leaves up posts like the ones on this thread. A real despot, for sure.

Just felt like writing this in case anyone ever does a search for "moderator", and lands on this kooky-ass thread. And Todd, I am not a member of Jack's posse. He hangs out w/ a bunch of non-car people who are not even aware of his internet Sheriff status. Hope that clears things up.

Embs 04-30-2003 07:31 AM

I'm sorry Marshall Jack, you are the bestus moderator a fella could ever have. (despite my earlier off-color cake hole remark) http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/pray.gif I really have enjoyed all of your race videos.

old_skul 04-30-2003 07:46 AM

Nice save, Todd. It's good to be able to recognize when you're overmatched.

But thats part of the problem. The samples are not random, but biased. Any casual visitor to this BB would think that Porsche 911s are unreliable, cantankerous money-pits, and a blot on the reputation of German engineering. Same thing with vendors - no one adds a post saying "I have now bought 100 items from vendor X and am very happy with the firm," or "absolutely nothing has gone wrong with my 911 in the past month." Even Motormeister probably has some satisfied customers, but they don't post here.
