Newer Rear Seats Fit Early Cars?

I bought tan recovered seats for my 72T. They look so good that in comparison the back seats and inserts look pretty worn. A salvage yard with a 76 will sell me the back seats and inserts but doesn't think they will fit. Does anyone know if the middle year and SC rear seats will interchange with the early cars? The Salvage yard is 2 hours away so I would like to know before I go look at them. (not that I wouldn't mind the road trip)
